The East Windsor Ambulance Association Inc. (EWAA) is a private, non profit paramedic ambulance service providing emergency medical services to the Town of East Windsor and its surrounding communities. East Windsor consists of five boroughs, Warehouse Point, Broad Brook, Scantic, Melrose and Windsorville. These five boroughs make up an area of approximately 25 square miles with a residential population of 10,000 and a working population of 20,000. The EWAA responds to over 2500 calls for service annually. The EWAA also provides standbys for community events in town, such as fire department carnivals, holiday parades and road races. If you have an event in town that you feel could benefit from our presence, please feel free to contact us to discuss your event.
The EWAA operates two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, two Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance and three Paramedic response vehicles. We currently staff our stations with at least one ALS ambulance in each, most often with two ALS ambulances. We provide mutual aid paramedic and transport service to eight surrounding communities including Enfield, Somers, Ellington, Windsor Locks, Suffield, Granby, East Granby and South Windsor, and anyone else who requests our services.
Our paramedics’ average ten years of experience and are trained in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP),Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) and Intraosseous Infusions (IO). The EWAA provides the highest level of pre hospital care possible in the State of Connecticut.
